KME Forever

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take but by the moments that take our breath away. - Hilary Cooper

Kristen (third from left) loved her time at U Mass Med. While intense, she forged great friendships and became involved in a number of community service projects-including a medical mission to Peru in her sophomore summer.

To help other students have the great experience as she had, we have endowed 2 scholarships. These scholarships are awarded to a freshman student and each year thereafter until graduation. Awardees include Jorge Fink- shown above, and Hussein Anwar, and Ben Maxner(right)

KRISTEN M ETTENSOHN AWARD FOR ART, ATHLETICS AND ADVOCACY

In 2016, we established an award to honor the senior student who exemplified Kristen's strengths in Art and Athletics as tools for patient advocacy. This award was not meant to identify the brightest, or highest achiever- but something more practical- someone who gets things done. While not exclusive of scholarly endeavor, this award honors the student who, like Kristen, used her(his) skills to effect positive change. This has become a prestigious award, meant to recognize the student likely to become a leader in his or her community. The award winners are as listed below:

2016: Kat Baily (r) shown with Dr Michelle Pugnaire

2017: Valery Valant shown with Dave and Linda

2018: Vangie Murray shown with Dean Flotte and Dave and Linda

2019: Corinne Gibbons with Dave and Linda
