Kristen Marie Ettensohn Scholarship Fund 501C3 Entity: # 27-3293586
Many of us have never had an opportunity to contemplate our legacy. In fact, Kristen never really gave it a thought until she was forced to confront her own mortality. Diagnosed with a rare form of tongue cancer, she immediately went into battle mode- but also started to think about what she would like to leave behind. Always the champion of the underdog, Kristen embraced community service and set herself in a position where she could impact a large number of lives as a physician. In her absence, we felt we could best fulfill her life goals by helping other young men and women to carry on where Kristen could no longer participate. Hence, the scholarship fund. Since her death in 2010, over $40,000 in scholarships have been awarded to promising young athletes and artists. Through generous donations from a large number of people, we will soon expand these scholarships to promising graduating physicians. Thanks for your contibutions and support!
